How SyloSpace treats sources and evidence

A working link isn't proof that a claim is true or that the page supports it. These are the rules SyloSpace applies.

Citations point to specific material

Synthesised claims link to the specific source or contribution they rely on. The application refuses to publish a revision that cites material from another Sylo, material that has been removed, or participant-submitted sources that haven't been reviewed.

Dates and freshness

Sources show when they were published and when they were last checked, where known. Each Sylo shows "changed" and "checked" separately: a page isn't up to date just because its wording was regenerated.

Copies aren't confirmation

When several outlets repeat the same underlying report, moderators link them so they aren't counted as independent confirmation.

Challenges and removals

Anyone signed in can challenge a source. If a source cited by the live page is challenged or removed, the affected passages are visibly flagged and a review is queued. History isn't silently rewritten.

AI's role

AI can organise material into a draft. It only sees the sources and contributions on that Sylo, which it treats as untrusted data, and its output is checked for invented references before a person reviews it. A model's confidence is never shown as factual certainty. When AI is unavailable, reading and contributing keep working.

Images

SyloSpace doesn't generate topic imagery or fill gaps with unrelated stock photos. Where the right to reuse an image is unclear, it shows a text link to the source instead.
