Legal
Privacy notice
This notice describes what the software does with data. The operator must review it, add their legal entity and contact details, and confirm hosting and AI-provider terms before public launch.
What we store
- Account: email, display name, a salted password hash, optional bio and interests.
- Sessions: a hashed session token and your browser's user-agent, for up to 30 days.
- Contributions and their edit history, sources you submit, reports you file.
- Poll responses. These are private: only totals are shown publicly.
- Security and moderation logs, including actions taken by staff.
AI processing
When an AI provider is configured, the text of contributions and sources on a Sylo may be sent to it to prepare a draft. Names, emails and account identifiers aren't sent. The operator must record the provider's retention terms here before enabling it.
What we don't do
- We don't infer sensitive traits from your votes or activity.
- We don't publish breakdowns that could identify small groups.
- We don't sell personal data.
Deletion
You can withdraw contributions at any time. For account deletion or data-access requests, contact the operator. Deletion removes your profile and personal data; contributions can be removed or anonymised, and summaries that relied on them are re-reviewed. Backups expire on the operator's backup schedule.
