Community guidelines
SyloSpace works when people add what they genuinely know and disagree in good faith.
Contribute honestly
- Share your own experience, and say what context it comes from.
- Link sources that actually support what you say, and quote the relevant part.
- Disagree with ideas, not people. Name the assumption you're challenging.
- Don't impersonate others, post for pay without disclosure, or coordinate votes.
Your username
Everyone on SyloSpace uses a pseudonymous username rather than their real name. Usernames can't imitate staff or SyloSpace itself, or contain hateful or violent words. If the one you want is taken or not allowed, you'll be offered free ones. You can change it once a month.
Not allowed
These are refused before they're ever public:
- Threats, or encouraging violence against anyone or any place.
- Sexual content involving minors, in any form.
- Instructions for making weapons or explosives.
- Words and phrases the moderators have blocked.
These are held privately for a moderator: other people's personal details (phone numbers, addresses), advertising and spam. Harassment and hate are removed when reported. Reporting violent news is fine; threatening people isn't.
Refusing three posts in a day makes an account read-only until a moderator reviews it.
If you're struggling
If you post that you might harm yourself, your post stays private and a moderator will see it. If you're in immediate danger, call your local emergency number. You can talk to someone now: in the US call or text 988, in the UK and Ireland call Samaritans on 116 123, and elsewhere find a free, confidential line at findahelpline.com.
Votes
Mark posts helpful or not helpful. Helpful posts rise and carry more weight when a Sylo's brief is drafted, but a vote is a signal of usefulness, not evidence that something is true. Heavily downvoted posts are collapsed, never deleted, so honest disagreement stays visible. You can't vote on your own posts, and votes from brand-new accounts don't add weight.
Sparks and AI credits
When someone finds your post helpful, you earn a spark. A downvote can cancel a spark that post earned, but never takes a post below zero, so an unpopular but honest view costs you nothing. Votes from accounts less than a day old don't earn sparks, there's a daily cap, changing a vote reverses its spark, and removed posts lose theirs.
You can convert sparks into AI credits. You also earn AI credits for posting (5), replying (1), answering a poll (1), and the most (20) when your post shapes a Sylo's brief. AI credits pay for AI work: starting a new Sylo, and extra “Ask this Sylo” answers once today's are used. Balances are private to you. Neither has cash value or can be transferred.
Reporting and review
Use "Report" on any contribution, or "Challenge or report this source" on a source, including "Someone may be at risk of harm". Moderators review reports; routine removals are reversible, and every moderation action is logged. If you think a decision was wrong, reply to the notification or contact support to appeal.
Account limits
To protect the community, there are rate limits on contributions, votes, reports and new Sylos. Moderators can make an account read-only or suspend it. One account doesn't guarantee one person, and SyloSpace doesn't claim otherwise.
